Valhym
“The Valhym are warriors, plain and simple. They are and deadly and unforgiving as the land on which they live. Despite them not being much impressed with my life’s work, I do find myself enjoying their honest lives. It is strange to me that such fiercely loyal people find themselves embroiled in civil war so often. It is almost akin to the inevitable fight of siblings.” - From the Journal of the Unnamed Traveler

Geography
Valhym has two mountain ranges: the Giantfells and Kjor’s Spine. Southern Valhym is cold and the snow hardly ever melts in Jarldoms like Hafalsk. To the north, the land is more fertile until it becomes swamps. Valhym is rich with wildlife, although much of it is not friendly.
Politics/Culture
Valhym is ruled by a High King or Queen who rules over the Jarls who in turn govern their individual jarldoms. The number of jarldoms can vary through history but usually is thirteen jarldoms (not including the capital).
Both the Monarchy and Jarl title are hereditary although Jarls have been removed and replaced by the monarch on occasion.
Valhym is often plagued by inner turmoil, the Jarls fight among themselves and sometimes ally together against the monarch. Civil wars are common and are usually only absent when the country is at war with another. This has let the people of Valhym to be proud warriors and respecters of strength and victory.
